The market capitalization of JPMorgan Chase fell from 437.2 billion U.S. dollars in December 2019 to 274.3 billion U.S. dollars in March 2020 as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The pandemic had a significant impact on the global financial markets, and the market capitalization of the largest global banks took a hit. It was not until around one year later, in February 2021 or later, that the market capitalization of most banks returned to pre-pandemic levels.
